What the heck. I was told that there were no more Griffin guys on the streets in Vegas. It's pretty sad when there are no more Griffin guys sweeping the casino floors and you still get 86'd. I wasn't even playing and was escorted out cause someone recognized me. I later found out from a snitch that I was recognized from a "Gold Alert". What happened to the good ole days when you could sneek in and get out with some chips before a pit geek spotted your play????

What you described has happened to me only once, and I had just been kicked out of the casino across the street 10 minutes before, obviously one of the SIN systems. This is not the norm. But when you get a backoff it is a good idea to go change clothes, take the rest of that shift off, and not return to casinos of the same ownership on that trip. When you visit a month later the effect of the flyer will have largely worn off.

I lost about 10K in my first 45 minutes of play, was down about an additional 5K four days into the trip, and ended up a few thousand ahead by the end of the trip. Made it to the finals of one tournament but took last place among the finalists. Got two backoffs. It has been a rough year.

2X $800 I believe, at about +4 TC. We recently downsized to adjust for the reduced bank. Right now all five memebers of our little group are losing at the same time, which is not very common. We are a little better than 200 hours into the current bank. This is second time in the last five years that we've lost about half a bank. At full stakes we go to 2X $1200 on the rare occasions that we think we can get away with it.

might be able to run a little corner hardware store, but he'll never be Home Depot. Using good judgement and getting people who are of high moral character has greater profit potential than the risk of their stealing. Nobody would need to hide any chips to steal as they are not even in the same casino, or often even in the same state. They would only have to lie about their results. We are spread all over the country, each has a portion of the team bank, and we communicate results to each other via email reports.
BTW, it is a good idea not to trust anyone who can't trust others. They don't understand the rationale behind honesty and don't know why others would not steal from them given the perfect opportunity. Thus, they would probably steal themselves if they knew there was no way for them to get caught.

As for trust - its a risk that you take, its a part of life - just like in your solo blackjack you take the risk of possibly going broke for the sake of high potential returns, in a team you take the risk that your teammates will cheat you for the sake of higher profit such a partnership will bring.
As a safeguard, you can make a rule - if some team member is losing too much, he is out of the team.
DD made a good example of Home Depot - they hire employees and entrust them with company equipment and money. Sure, some dishonest employees will steal, but they are a minority and will be caught eventually. On average, Home Depot will make more money out of an employee's work than the average value of stolen stuff.

But this person is out of the picture. He won't be playing for anyone. I would be glad to furnish a reference, in private, on anyone who has worked with me. You can't stop trusting everyone because one person rips you off.
Con-men don't really trust. They just know they will rip you off for more, before you have the chance to cheat them. I like people to show an honest level of concern and who appear to want to take reasonable precautions. But the simple truth is that if every person skimmed 20% of their expected win we'd still make money. The risk is built into the equations and taken into consideration when structuring deals. Honest people will make a little less than they otherwise would because they have to offset the dishonest ones. I now have the luxury of using only experienced people who have worked on other teams. I have sufficient contacts that I can usually check them out. And I've only worked with small teams, 5 to 9 people, generally. For a dishonest person to get into our little group he will not only have to sell himself to me but also will have to have done a pretty good job fooling the principles of his previous teams.
where the number of pros are fewer...and EVERYONE either knows each other directly OR knows someone who is tied into another group that knows someone your reputation is all you have. If you cheat/steal from a current team or teammate chances are that the entire deal will become known within the community somehow.
