Oops a bit more info :-)
Why did I ask Bjtraveller the question in the first place? Hmm--- my curiosity got the better of me, & I had to ask him. Won't you ask him the curious question if you saw the Academy's advertisement like the one below?
Bjtraveller & a pardner have opened an Academy for teaching students in how to "invest". Recently Bjtraveller's "Investment" Academy advertises as follows:
"BJ Classes: March 27, 2012 through April 3, 2012
Basic BJ
2 hours
Tuition US$168.89
Intermediate BJ
3 hours
Tuition US$337.77"

"You're asking the wrong question
Why would someone need to be "fed up" with students in order to not want a pupil? Your question presupposes that the natural state is to desire a pupil and that it would take some factor (such as being "fed up") to change this.
A better question would be "why would someone want to volunteer their time and energy to teach someone else"? Think like an AP when you answer this. AP's do things that bring them a benefit and do not do things that don't bring them a benefit.
The natural state is that a student needs to have something to offer the teacher before they will get instruction. In the academic setting, this is usually money (most teachers get paid). That might motivate some AP teachers as well. Information would be something else of value that a student could provide an AP teacher, as would their service on a team, etc.
