"Blackjack Games to Avoid" handout with Basic Strategy card now available

These handouts should be an interesting conversation starter at the blackjack table, or can be handed out at random to casino patrons, left in coffee shops, taxicabs, included in mass mailers, etc.

The proliferation of bad games is certainly not a problem limited to Las Vegas, so feel free to hand them out in other casino cities.

We can modify them in the future to include space for sponsor advertising, if there is interest.

I hope that handing these out will become a popular and fun project for visitors to BJ21.com. If you participate, please post about your experiences in helping to educate the public.

The card gives sensible advice even regarding the 'Super Fun' game, however, the statement at the end saying that you should avoid games where 'Blackjacks' pay less then 3/2 could be detrimental to players' views of 'Blackjack Switch', which is a fair game for the players.

Unfortunately, the emergence of the '6/5 Blackjack' game is making more and more players aware of the damaging effect that a reduced pay-off in 'Blackjacks' gives. This is good to a point. However, I'm hoping that players do not stereotype their view and look at 'Blackjack Switch' in the same light because of the 'even money Blackjack' rule. This is essential in 'Blackjack Switch' due to the 'switching' involved.

The game offers a low house edge of around 0.2%, with perfect play, and although most players will not 'switch' correctly it is still a fair proposition to those 'average' players.

In fact, I think that it is probably the lowest edge multi-deck game available in USA today (although I'm not certain).

It would be nice if this was reflected in your cards and that a comment that said "except 'Blackjack Switch'" was included.

..I have not seen the cards yet...so they could already have this
but...how about a brief listing of common house edge based on game..
something like..

typical vegas 2D game... .4
typical vegas 6D game... .65
typical 6:5 game ... 1.65
BJ Switch ... .2

Even for a ploppie, sometimes a number can say more then paragraph...
and for any casino that has BJ switch but not 6:5 or SF, they may actually want to sponser;)

When BJ Switch has enough tables in enough casinos it might be worth a seperate mention.

Until then, to many exceptions and caveats would just clutter up the card and the primary message could easily get lost.

It's a fair point about the number of 'BJ Switch' tables around although it did only receive Nevada approval 2 weeks ago and is already in 3 casinos in Las Vegas. I just want it to progress in these initial stages and obviously don't want to see any negative advertising especially when it's not warranted. Players who read the 6/5 cards could easily apply the avoidance to 'Blackjack Switch' games as well.

How about a compromise - altering the wording "Avoid ALL games ..." to "Avoid ALL REGULAR blackjack games ..." ?
