Post counts

May I please get an answer as to why former posters have managed to have their post counts restored, while mine seem to be mired at five??

Updates to BJ21 message board software: This is still a work in progress

Please bear with us as we continue to adjust and improve our new format.  All comments and suggestions are welcome.  If you are a Green Chip member, please make comments in one of the threads on the General page or on the Admin page.  Thanks for your patience and understanding, as we work to update BJ21.

List of first things we will attempt to add/improve:

1. Put a box around the forum names (Green Chip forum, CBJN, and Free) on the "Boards" page so it is more obvious that it's a link.

2. Be sure spellchecker works in the body of posts.

3. See about a "Quote" feature for new posts.

4. See about a "Preview" feature for new posts.

Post of the Month wins $100 for Chiquinho.

The winning post is "Extrapolating my experience in other forms of AP to card counting" -- 12/9/2016, 10:17 am on the Green Chip General page. An excerpt from the post:

I myself am a full time AP and have been for a few years. Because of what I'm currently focusing on I'm lucky enough to be able to choose when I log my hours. Three times a week I will work for around 8-9 hours. Twice a week I will work for around 4-5 hours. I pretty much always give myself 2 days off. These are my working hours although since there are a ton of moving parts in making my play work I am pretty much always having to deal with bits and bobs throughout the week outside of working hours.

Post of the Month wins $100 for ParlayView.

The winning post is The winning post is "Sticking to the plan" on the Green Chip General page. An excerpt from the post:

About six months in, after much reading of BJ21 forums and archives, and listening to APs on podcasts and blogs, I began planning an AP future where I would gradually expand my repertoire. And I think this is something that new APs need to think about as they begin to experience success. Theres a lot of literature about how to count cards, and how to get away with it but then what? The forums are full of experienced professionals talking about how counting cards alone just isnt enough anymore. If thats true, and I believe it is, then card counting must be a stepping stone. But to what? Better figure it out, and better make some plans about it!

Post of the Month wins $100 for The Chaperone

Post of the Month wins $100 for The Chaperone

Post of the Month wins $100 for The Chaperone.

The winning post is "Not really" on the Green Chip Law and Taxes page. For the Post of the Month, two posts by The Chaperone within the same thread were combined and re-titled Sports event ticket scalpers. An excerpt from the post:

Whenever dealing with scalpers, you should always look at the current market on Stubhub or a similar site. You should also get a seating map of the venue up on your phone (this is usually pretty easy to find with Google images). Because obviously they will lie to you and tell you the ticket is on the 40 yard line when it's actually on the 20 etc. This is less of an issue in areas where scalping is legal. Some of the guys even have seating maps on a necklace around their necks. Oftentimes they will start with a number that is extremely high, like 3x what they would be willing to sell for. This is why you need to research the current market. As an example I recently went to a Pac 12 football game as a last minute decision. I got there late and by the time I got to the scalpers the game had already started. This is huge leverage for me as the tickets they hold are going to $0 within the next hour or so. They need to dump them. ...

The winning post is "Keep it simple" -- 9/9/2016, 11:03 pm, on the Green Chip General page. An excerpt from the post:

The level or complexity of your count will not define your success as an advantage player. Just because you're using Hi Opt II w/ASC will not guarantee you AP success. And just because you employ the Hi Lo system, that doesn't automatically classify you as an amateur either! I know successful APs (people who have experienced long term success) who are using very simple counts and blasting 2x$1,000 at the tables. At the same time, I know others who are red-chipping amateurs that use complex counts.

The winning post is "Reality check..." -- Ikthor -- 8/6/2016, 10:16 pm, on the Green Chip Las Vegas page. An excerpt from the post:

I do love how lots of people freak out over bet limits or whatever and have these hard limits in mind. Play till you get backed off. That's how you know where the real limits are. Everything else until then is talk.

Post of the Month wins $100 for Captain Jack.

The winning post is "Sports betting in America is tough" -- Gen. Pershing -- Captain Jack -- 7/6/2016, 3:33 pm on BJ21's Sports & Other Games page. An excerpt from the post:

Maybe some day with legalization, there will be sportsbooks all over the place like there are in the UK now. Maybe these sportsbooks won't all be controlled by an oligopoly of companies that refuse to take on risk and move in lock-step with each other. Maybe some day the sports leagues will embrace the idea of betting exchanges and the world will be able to bet with a 2% commission, of which the leagues will get a cut.

The winning post is "You're going to need a thicker skin ..." -- Gen. Pershing -- 6/30/2016, 10:13 pm, on BJ21's General page. An excerpt from the post:

As far as trusting someone completely, if you read enough here, you will find players whose bankroll has been significantly pilfered by numerous types of people they trusted: spouse, SO, ex-, mentor, "trainee", partner, teammate, team captain, even strippers. What's the world coming to when a stripper can't be trusted? That isn't to say that it will happen to you, but it does happen. Those players obviously never thought it would happen to them. An AP with a bankroll sometimes resembles a young person on the way to the altar.
