The games today suck, and you need to give your life to it and have a large bankroll earned from another activity. I couldn't do it either, no book will prepare you for it, it is brutal. But, it's fun on a recreational level if you have your shit together.

My results underwent a 180 degree turn when I started focusing on Spanish 21. I still play 21 but only the surrender games. I have to admit I have come a long ways since my earlier days

I don't know where you got that notion but you couldn't be more wrong.

I might be out of the loop with this, and most people in here have already established that I'm out of it, but Spanish 21 has worse expectation off the top as compared to average game rules. I know from several players it's not worth it. Can you quantify the off the top? Let us talk math, not insults. Dave.

The math end is that the game is -0.37 from the top. Advantage per +1 t.c. is +0.65 as opposed to +0.50. A huge differential.

and he has some decent information on his website- about edge sorting, hole carding, and loss rebate. About the only reputable source of info I could find was Eliot. Seriously doubt I will ever be edge sorting but just nice to understand how it worked.
