ZEN Count

I'm interested in the Zen count! Have been using Hi-Lo for about a year now. What are the indices? I use Don S. I-18, would the index numbers be the same? Is the TC counted at the 1/2 dk range? Please help if you can. Phil

Zen is a two level count, so hi-lo (single level) indices won't work.
You can get them in a copy of Snyder's Blackbelt in Blackjack or at one of the BJ sites which offers an index generating service. Perhaps someone here (Grifter?) has a link to such a site. Zen can be adjusted to either full deck of half-deck, your pleasure.

...are a close approximation of ZEN w/1D TC calibration and will work FINE. The currently published (Blackbelt) ZEN #s are calibrated for 1/4D TC -but- you may multiply the 1/4D #s x2 or x4 to recalibrate to 1/2D or 1D TCs, respectively, which wil give you a 'RoundedZEN' which is nonethelss valid yet easy to deploy.

Just switched to ZEN a few months ago ,I play A.C. and Conn.I have been ramping my bet`s the same way as I did using Hi/Lo is this ok. Also is there any books ,or software I could use to find out more Index`s ,or a betting ramp. I have Blackbelt in Blackjack,or are the Index`s good enough to use that are in the book. Thank you

Yes I use the 1/4 D true count for playing index`s , bet ramp I use is 1 unit at 0 or below ,2 or 3 units at start of shoe ,if winning the hands and count going up will chip up slowly to 4 or 5 units if true edge reaches plus 2 1/2, or 3 I will have one hand of 6 or 8 units ,or two hands of 6 units if I can get away with it ,due to heat ,open spot,(i do not try to play at full tables but only 2 or 3 other players sometimes they are next to me reason why cannot spread to two hands ). I go to two hands only after a win of the 6 or 8 unit bet .What do you think of this style of play.Thanks for your help.

... it could be fine-tuned with BR-dependent consideration using a simulator, risk calculator, and/or frequency tables... and you MUST wong out @ TC -1 or sooner like -0.5. G

**Its NOT a +.5 advantage, its a +.5 INCREASE .
ZEN - 1DTC - +.25
ZEN - 1/2DTC - +.50
ZEN - 1/4DTC - +1.0

Thanks for your help. Did not realize gain was that high with 1/4 deck true count, or about how much bank is needed for 6 deck game .What would be the ROR with the 1200 unit bank. Thank You again
