How do you guys respond to this? Not only did some ploopie say this to me but he also wasn't even playing! He was standing behind his damn girlfriend criticizing everyone's play. How can I explain to him in as few words as possible that in the long run I didn't cost the table anything.

But often in dealing with ploppies with such an attitude, nothing will work and is the reason thick skin is an important part of advantage play. The need for thick skin applies not only towards ploppies, but also towards casino backoffs/barrings and the emotion of big negative fluctuations. All part of the job... find another line of work if you can't handle it.

Like it or not, those commments will be made by idiot players & spectators about the last player's actions before the dealer's turn. If it bothers you to hear this crap, you'll either need to get thicker hide or sit in an earlier chair at the table.
Invite the smartass to sit down so he can show everyone including his girlfriend how the game is played. If he does, ask him 15 min later how much money he has made.

Reminds me of the story told by my sergeant in the Marines years ago. He got into an argument with another marine at a bar and hit him and knocked him to the floor. This fellow got up and ran out the door. My sergeant chased this guy for a block when he turned around and beat the sh*t out of my sergeant.

Being ignorant or being aware of ignorance?
Generally, when I receive such comments (e.g. every time I play), I antagonize the other person. For example, if someone tells me that I took the dealer's bust card, the next time I have a 15 or 16 v 10(which I should stand on, of course {or so they think}) I announce that I am going to take the dealer's bust card. I hope to draw a 10, lose the hand, then have the dealer make his hand. This happens within a few rounds. I then stare the person in the eye and smirk at them. They curse at me and leave 90% of the time. Then again, I am quite confrontational with morons, so you may not wish to do this.
