FYI: I surrendered....next card was 10, dealer's hole was a 2.....busted.
MT i wouldn't have known what to do either but looking at the EV table for your game is see that hitting is about -.37 or -.38 and its a long way to -.50 using the count shift. I'm not sure but I'm thinking Hit, even though I could see how if you were unprepared for such a massive positive count I might have done the exact same thing you did.
I think with a 10 up, and early surrender, it's a no brainer to surrender there. I think you even give up a 13v10 at 0 TC, if it is early surrender. Btw, where do you play that has early surrender?
