Incident at a casino
I am female, new to this site and only a casual BJ player and a non-counter. Was at a $200 minimum limit BJ table at a LV strip casino a little more than a week ago, and stayed from around ~12:30AM to ~5-6AM playing with one or 2 people at first then heads-up against dealers. Won a total of a few thousand dollars.
During the time I was there, I often needed to use the restroom. Used the one outside on the floor at first, then upon learning there was one inside the high-limit area for high rollers, I used that one.
After I cashed in my chips, I stopped by the restroom out on the floor before I left. I finished my business there, but needed to use it again a few minutes later. As I went in the 2nd time, I saw a female black security guard standing outside the restroom. Thought it was a little odd, but didn't think much more of it. Went into the stall and out. As I washed my hands, 2 or 3 white security guys went into the ladies room. Sensing something was happening, I asked: "What's happening?" One of the security guys responded: "Can I see your ID?" "No." was my answer as I thought I didn't do anything wrong and there was no reason for me to show my ID to these guys. Besides, they hadn't given me a reason why they wanted or needed to see my ID. After demanding to see my ID a while without positive results, they said "someone reported you were smoking in the restroom." As a non-smoker, I told them I don't smoke, that I was at the high-limit blackjack table all night without smoking, and they could go there to check it out. (I had been playing blackjack all night, and was pretty exhausted and sleepy by then therefore forgot that this was not a high school restroom.) Finally, we went back to the high-limit pit and I let the bosses there figure things out for me. They still demanded to see my ID, and finally stated that "you were smoking marijuana". I told them several times I felt I was being harassed and that since it was a crime to smoke marijuana, I wanted the whole incident reported to the police, which they refused.
I got tired of arguing with them after a while so I left. Should I contact a lawyer? :-) By the way, I was the only casino patron in the restroom during the "Security demanding to see my ID"-incident.
