He is a self-proclaimed and self-published expert on many subjects. His blackjack book, if I recall correctly from earlier discussions. is 48 pages, double spaced and printed on one side of a page, a novel presentation.

Why do I give him credit you ask. Well here's a young man with a lot of what my grandfather called "spunk". He managed to get an interview on a local TV station, I assure you they didn't seek him out, and self published his little book. Oliver cut his teeth as an author with a couple of ezine articles here.

But wait, there is more, it's 5am here in the desert so I wanted to see what my boy Ollie has been up to and guess what. He has a new, self-published book, "My Life : Gambling, Strippers, Bankruptcy, and Suicide". He's lived a full life for a guy in his 20s or so. My little man is becoming quite a prolific author. This one looks good, at least it is more pages. I believe the idea has movie potential. Next time I'm sipping a double mocha latte in the book store I'll have to read it. Just the fact that he attemps to take credit for the centuries old martingale system (why would anyone claim as their own...lol) confirms my suspicion.

I suspect he failed, as most do, due to his own shortcoming. The fact that he speaks of betting $5000 a hand in one breath and then speaks of being nervous while carrying 20K shows a major inconsistency.

But the most glaring error is when he states that card counting doesn't work because you are just as likely to lose with high counts because the dealer draws 20's and 21. While this of course is true, as we all know, the dealer doesn't get paid an additional 50% on his blackjacks. That is where most of player advantage comes from.

I suspect Mr Galang did try his hand at card counting, probably overbet, and was wiped out with the first bit of negative fluctuation, and then discredited card-counting, while proclaiming himself an expert.

I'm amazed that anyone would take this crap seriously.

He sure looks like he's some sort of huckster because he doesn't sound as though he has a real conception of what counting is and how it works. My guess is that his marketing scheme is just as flawed as his knowledge of card counting. Few people are going to want to spend money on learning why not to do something, which is after all the purpose of the book. They can do that for free.

I KNOW all you have seen this as often as I have: Oliver's attitude of "If I can't do it, it can't be done." Just a normal expression of the "it's all about ME generation."
