I know the Flamingo is really good about offering the casino rate, even though they're pretty stingy with meal comps.
Downtown is always a good bet for inexpensive rooms. The 4Queens has a special going, check their web site.
Another good place to look for rooms is in the LA Times. you can review their print ads on line.
Comps are generally easier to come by at the downtown properties, and even if you don't get the room comped, you can usually get a room for cheap to begin with.
Make sure you look at the reviews at cheapovegas.com before you venture downtown tho. Main Street Station and the Nugget are nice, 4Queens, Fitzgerald's and the Shoe are adequate. You might want to think twice about the Western until you've had a chance to, you know, check it out in person. Like in broad daylight.
