What's with Anthony Curtis from "The Las Vegas Advisor" telling the world that the best way to win in Las Vegas is to "learn to count cards"? I thought he was our friend.
Get ready for more casino counter measures.
Maybe his intentions are good. We know that most people who count cards are still not removing the house edge because most lack all the skills necessary. An over-abundance of such individuals may divert the casinos' focus from the true pros. Next time you are playing, maybe the casino will pay less attention to your action and more to that of a Curtis wannabe who has more bank but less skill and no cover compared to you.
The Vegas channel has also said the same things in other ways in shows that it has played for years now - difficult to say much that's new about gambling that will still appeal to the general viewer.
I wouldn't spend much time worrying about it.

but I would really like to see the Travel Channel show about how the casinos tinker with All the games. Wouldn't that be fun to watch!

Most ploppies know and understand 6:5 blackjacks pay less than 3:2. The reason why some of them try 6:5 is because it's "Single Deck" and since they are aware single deck is suppose to a good game,they somehow try to overcome 6;5 by using their voodoo beliefs. Of course I imagine there are a few true morons out there with a very low IQ that think 6:5 blackjacks pay more,but they would have to be very close to retardation and there is nowhere near enough of them to change the world of blackjack to 6:5.
I dont worry about 6:5 because sooner or later these ploppies realize they're losing money much quicker and go look for a real game of 3:2 blackjack. I'm pleased to say 6:5 blackjack will never replace real blackjack.

Recent trip to the Nugget had eight 6:5 single deck tables - all empty. Even the trourists are getting a clue.

You really think so? I'd think most of them don't play enough to realise it. I don't think 6:5 really makes too much difference to a ploppy (or his bank).
Only really makes a difference to serious BJers (as a hobby) or the advantage players.
Of course the ones who dont play as frequently will be "later".
All it takes is a few sessions of hell and the ploppies go back to real blackjack. Ive had them sit at my table after losing at 6:5 complaining about how bad they lost.
Carnival games come and go and 6/5 seems to be getting less and less visitors. This is usaully an indication of a carnival game on it's way out.
