The competition war among AC casinos

I like to start this thread for me and other AC Comrades to post reports and updates during the competition war among AC casinos.

The competition war has benefited all bj players. It's reported that East Coast players have reaped some handsome rewards so far due to the war. As compared to previous years, players now have been offered many room & food comps from Hilton, Tropicana, Trump Plaza, Caesars, Bally's Park Place, Resorts, Taj, Showboat, Trump Marina, Harrah's, and Borgata. As for me, I've received food & room comp offers from all AC casinos except one --- TROPICANA --- hmmmm, I wonder why! Speaking of Trop, it offers the best of the best blackjack in AC:

1) 4 tables of 4decker game with 1 deck cutoff (currently $25min & $500max most the time),

2) all 6 decker game with decent pen thru out the casino floor, & gone are those monstrous 8deckers, GOOD RIDDEN! and

3) the most simplest shuffle in the world, especially in the 4 decker pit. Some dealers can quickly finish the shuffling within "15 MississippiS". Trop really wants to keep its players at their seats at all time.---No bathroom nor smoke breaks for players when dealers can get the game going within "15 MississippiS" in between shoes.

How great is this 4 decker game, you ask? It's so great that the pit is some times packed with NOT only APs, but with non-Tropicana-PITCRITTERS also, i.e., off-duty-floorpersons/dealers("players") from Trop's competitors such as --- Hilton, Trump Plaza, Caesars, Bally's Park Place, Resorts, Taj, Showboat, Trump Marina, Harrah's, and Borgata. So far, Tropicana's pitcritters are happy to see extra players rolling into their bj pits EXCEPT for one misbehaved Baldy Guy---As soon as he jumped in and out of the 4decker-tables, the catcher showed up quickly at the pit, and the catcher halfshoed or shuffled up againt the Baldy. It seems that catcher has real bad blood lingered against the baldy. I'll post more updates here as the competition war wages on among AC casinos.

Rumors have it that AC Hilton starts to phase out its operation. It massively has fired lots of its casino hosts. It closed down its poker room, its fancy Chairman Club, and its unique Dizzy Dolphin Bar (The only AC casino without a bar, poker room and Chairman Club!).
I personally don't believe the rumors until I've attempted to call AC Hilton to reserve my comped rooms. For over 10 years, I've called that number (1-888-AC-HILTON) without trouble, but now, that number is "NOT VALID"! Oh well, there goes my comped room. Perhaps the rumors about AC Hilton may be true! What do you guys think?

By the way, I've never missed the defunct Claridge, but I will definitely "cry" if ACH dies. ACH had always been the casino with best pen until Trop's 4 deckers come along. How good is Trop's pen, you may ask? It's so good that a pitcritter ordered a few lazy 4decker-dealers to cut off 52 cards, NOT 26 cards!

I loved the Hilton last time in AC. It was awesome! Hope they are just trimming the fat and will revive.

What do you have to do?

Be on your toes against cheating casino cashiers. Why would cashiers cheat you, you ask? Gambling problem may be 1 of many answers. I had met a few cashiers who bet blackchips, i.e., a Borgata cashier gambled big in Trump Marina. I once wonder how they get those kind of money to burn. Now I think I know how they get extra money to gamble because I'm a victim shortchanged by cashiers. I think I know how they have short changed me:

1) Palming away a chip from my stack, i.e., for my $475 in greenchips, he would palm away 1 chip and would pretend that I miscounted my own chips, then he would give me $450 in bills, or

2) "Mis-counting" a stack of $100 bills, i.e., for my $1,000 in chips, the cashier would give me $900 by mis-counting out loud: 1,2,3,4,5,---7,8,9,10! With tons of customers behind me, sometimes I just trust the cashier and walk away with $100 short.

The bottom line: trust no casino cashiers, be on your toes, and watch the cashiers like a hawk while they handle your chips in the cage.

So do you guys ever get shortchanged by casino cashiers?

It's absolutely essential to count your chips before you hand them to the cashier.If you have too many chips color them up at the table.For maximum safety, spread your chips on the counter.It would be very bold for the cashier to cheat you in front of the camera. And if that happens you can still have it checked.

In your opinion, is the Trop 4 deck game the best in AC?
What type of spread will they tolerate without shuffling up?

How much does your avg bet need to be per hour, and how long do you need to play for to earn a free room? How long for a comped meal?

I was cheated once by a casino cashier, and resolved to never let it happen again.

Nowadays, when I go to the cage, I will take my chips and stack them in indivdual increments of $100.00, and pronounce "One hundred - two hundred - three hundred, etc." loudly to the cashier (lesser amounts get the same treatment). I do this before the cage critter even starts to count my chips, knowing that the camera is watching (and I could care less how long the line behind me is).

There was one time that I had to interrupt the cashier when she started to grab my chips, telling her to wait until I had finished counting them, and she stopped when asked to do so. I figured that by doing this, the cage would know that I knew exactly what was coming to me.

So far, I've never been shorted since I started doing it this way.

So you got shortchanged at least once, heh? Welcome to the Ethan's club of victims.

Degenerate gambling seems to be the root of all evil for the on-going cheating problems in casinos, especially true with casino employees such as dealers, cashiers, floorpeople, casino hosts, even dual rate pitbosses who have run the risk of losing their jobs! Here are examples: 1) The shortchanged-me-cashier will sooner or later lose his job because some pissed-off gamblers will report his ass to a CCC inspector. 2) A degenerate dealer stole chips thru friends at her table, i.e., she paid her friends by mistake frequently & shared the chips later. Subsequently she's arrested and taken away in handcuffs. 3) Degenerate casino hosts needed extra cash to support their addicted gambling habits, and they would provide hookers for highrollers in exchange for big tips. At least 2 of them lost their jobs because of FBI wiretaps. So be on your toes against casino employees who will rob Peter (us the APs) and pay Paul (other casinos in which they've lost big bucks).

I did just as you suggested with cashing out. I took my time and made stacks of 100 each and did get some commments from people behind me, but I didn't care. Better to be safe and keep my hard earned cash.

I had no heat to speak of. Got some looks for a period of about 5 minutes or so when I got nervous, there were a few new faces in the pit, close talking and looking my way. I just smiled and nodded and didn't act nervous, even though I was.

I was spreading 1-15 units.

I love the 4 decks, which they would continue, but they were cutting quite a bit off. That could have been better.

The competition war has really heated up among AC casinos. Trop has been the leader of the pack, and it take the war even more seriously. It just employs 4 aces of spades as wild cards, which give the 4decker-player an automatic win. I quickly came up with a system to take advantage of the favorable situation. I kept track of the aces of spades with whitechips. When an ace of spade was overdue, I would bet tablemax and beat the dealers many times. All the suddenly 2 suits and a Sergeant-at-Arms came and backroomed me. At the backroom the Sergeant-at-Arms accused me of cheating and tortured me with his stunt gun until I was on the brink of death. I passed out, and then was woken up by--------

my alarm clock. It's all but a dream., however my dream made everything seem so perfect except for the backrooming and torturing.
