Mr. Wong, I have always respected you as a blackjack author. I've been bitting my tongue for the last few days because I just know you are going to pop up in a post and say...APRIL FOOLS, HAHA GOTCHA, or maybe JUST KIDDING. These dice control posts are the most gimmicky posts I've seen on this site. I'm not disputing the idea of dice control, I don't know anything about it. But your posts look like something I would find on much, much, much, (did I say much?) less reputable websites. Lets look at some quotes and my comments:
"I put in a couple of hundred hours as a customer at crap tables during 2004, and have several thousand dollars of winnings to show for it.."
Sounds like a good start. I assume you recorded those hours and stats in a journal. "couple hundred hours" means nothing to me. I have no idea how many rolls that is. Were you heads up, at the table with 12 other people, and endless other factors. Congrats on the winnings but I'm not able to conclude anything from it.
Stop throwing little tidbits at us. Give me some meat. How many rolls on casino tables (not including your bed) have you recorded? Don't just tell me about the "Good 1/3" of the tables because as you know, we don't always get the conditions we want. What are your results? Are you TRULY able to mathematically conclude that you have an advantage?
"Various green chippers who joined me at the tables and bet on my rolls have won thousands more. "
Again, congrats to them but no real value to this statement. I couldn't careless if a few green chippers made some money. In fact, I'm a little disappointed that the more prominent contributors to this forum haven't spoken up. If they are saying anything its not on the free page.
"we had a challenge: 500 rolls"
"Random would have been 83.3 sevens."
"Little Joe and I combined for 74 sevens, winning the challenge."
What else can I say. Again, no value. If I go to the casino, record 500 hands, $5000 wagered and finish with $5500, can I assume I'm a proficient shuffle tracker? Why do you even mention this?
"Anybody who buys Wong on Dice for $199 will automatically receive the first edition of the book, assuming I finish writing it."
"The amount of edge depends on the skill of the shooter"
I guess they need to do the 500 roll test to determine their skill level?
"Here are three questions that are answered in Wong on Dice"
"1. How can you test yourself in just a few minutes to determine whether your dice-control skill is sufficient to give you an edge in a casino? "
This one takes the cake.
A player's skill level is variable.
The tables are variable.
The shooters position on the table is most likely variable.
A players ability to maintain a consistent throw is variable.
But I can learn my edge in dice-control in a matter of minutes? I can't wait to hear this but I will probably have to wait awhile since I'm not planning to buy the 28 pages.
If I would have read this post by just about any other person on any other page, I would have dismissed it and anyone supporting it immediately. You and this bj community have provided to many good ideas, advantages, and sound advice to dismiss this site as voodoo but as for now, this string of posts and this book are nothing but voodoo to me.
