My "friend" is a failed Atlantic City magician who thinks he can be a black jack mechanic. "Friend" is in quotes because I don't really lile the guy and because he is really a friend of a friend of a...
Anyway, we got into an arguement. Here is his newest plan.
He says he knows of some Indian casino in Canada that plays Vegas Strip rules. His plan is to go from table to table, and pocket about 10 face cards. Then he goes to the biggest limit table and slowly replaces his 10 face cards with 10 other cards. He says it's a 6 deck game, so he's looking at a true count of +3.5.
My first advice is, dont do it. He's got damn quick hands but it wont work. He says the casino has low quality security cameras, they hardly ever switch decks, stupid dealers, etc etc. I do know he has never been to Canada so I don't know what he is basing everything on. He is an idiot.
Which brings me to my question. He asks me for advice on what to do.
I know a little about blackjack and I gave him my advice, but he isn't agreeing. Here's what I said (After again telling him not to do it):
-Take out 4's, 5's and 6's and put in the face cards. These are the most powerful to remove.
-Alter basic strategy in the following ways: stay on hard 15 against dealer 10, don't hit 12/13 against dealer 12.
-Always take Insurance
Hypothetically (As I doubt he will ever end up North of the border), what else would he do?
I was thinking doubling a soft 17,18,19 against dealer 4,5,6. If you get a 10 or Ace, you have a good total. Also, the 2,3,4 are still in play so they could improve you.
This is what I would do if this sitution could be pulled off. But I would never try it. And I hope he wouldn't.
I was curious if what I told him is the same as the experts. What would you guys do if you could switch cards around?
