Software question-am I missing something?

I decided to get the Deepnet BJ practice software for my Palm. I am just starting out learning counting and am still in the "getting BS down pat" phase (like I've said, I am very much a newbie). I've noticed a problem with the software and don't know if I have the wrong BS or if the program does.

1. When I hit a hard 12 on dealer's card of 2 or 3, the program says I made a mistake and should stand, regardless of the count. The BS tables I have been using from SW and elsewhere all say with hard 12 stand on 4-6 and hit everything else.

2. When late surrender is allowed, when I surrender a hard 16 against 9,10,A the program says surrender is the wrong play and I should hit the hard 16, also regardless of count. Once again, the BS tables I'm using say surrender hard 16 against 9,10,A.

Am I missing something? Or do I need to contact Deepnet and ask them why their program does this?

I think you need to contact the vendor and see how the software is programmed. May well be there is no "error", but that's how the software was written. If the software was in fact written to generate an error when you hit 12 vs 2 or 3, I would think you would want to look for alternative products.

Everyone I know raves about QFIT and considers software provided by this company as top drawer. Try this link and search for what may be applicable to your level of play and future intentions with the game. Not a computer geek, so don't know system requirements to utililze on a Palm but undoubtedly QFIT can answer all your questions.

Good advice. I already have CV from QFIT and really like the program. I got the Palm software to practice on the go.

I suspect you have either selected the wrong table in Action
mode, or possibly altered the table in Action Mode by accident.

I recommend uninstalling, deleting the directory, then
re-installing. That will restore the default action table
and settings.

I use that software in my PDA. You can work on your game (drills) during lunch, in a bar, or before bed after a long day. It will give you feed-back in as little as 2 min. This way you know when your game is weak. If you do poor late at night you might want to skip the late shift at your local casino. Lose the count while in a bar? Might want to work a little harder before putting your money where your mind is (or isn't). Casino Verite' is great, so is Professional BlackJack Analyzer! But when it comes to a quick "Am I ready right now or do I need to take a break first?" test, there's nothing like running through some quick drills and checking your speed/error count.

No. AFAIK, QFIT does not have a Palm OS version of their CV software. I was only saying I have CV for my desktop at home for realistice BJ practice conditions, and I got Deepnet Techs Palm software to practice on the go.

Send requests to support@qfit.com. Palm versions are not planned as the screen is too small for realistic practice. Windows based PDAs have an acceptable screensize.
