Hello,
I had a question about how to interpret the indices in Table 10.1 of BJA 3rd Edition (page 213). I love the book! I play an 8 Deck game with h17, DAS, and Surrender. If I were to use the indices from Table 10.1 for that game, how would I interpret the negative indices and the indices that are zero? (I floor the decks in the discard tray to determine the True Count - e.g., if there are 1.75 decks in the discard tray, I treat it like 1 deck is in the discard tray and 7 Decks are remaining to be dealt)?
Example #1: If the index number for 13 v. 2 is -1, does this mean: a) deviate by hitting if the True Count is -1 or lower, otherwise stand or b) deviate by hitting if the True Count is below -1 (i.e., hit if the True Count is -2 or lower, otherwise stand)?
Example #2: If the index number for 12 v. 4 is 0, does this mean: a) deviate by hitting if the True Count is 0 or lower, otherwise stand or b) deviate by hitting if the True Count is below zero (ie, hit if the True Count is -1 or lower, otherwise stand)
Example #3: If the index number for 11 v Ace (8 Deck, h17 game) is -1, what does this mean?
Last Question: Are all Fab Four Surrender Indices in Table 10.1 to be interpreted to mean: a) surrender at or above the Index Number, otherwise hit or b) are the surrender indices that are 0 or -1 for my game treated differently?
Thank you in advance for the help!
