Anybody else like to play there? I try to go at least once a month. I would enjoy hearing anybody elses experiences or advice on the casinos there.

I like to arrive 8 p.m. ish, play Harrahs an hour or two,
go to bed, get up at 4 and try to get uncrowded pitch games at Boomtown, Isle and Horseshoe. It's tough sometimes.
If it's a long weekend, I'll go another 2 1/2 hrs to Vicksburg, and hit their pitch games on grave too.
what do you do?
I am coming from big D, so I ususally only go on weekends. I have tried several different casinos, but I actually like the isle. I backcount the 6 deckers there and they have good pen. (75%). The reason I like the isle is b/c they comp sooo well. I have recieved several free rooms. And despite blatant (an it was while i was learning) counting, I never really got hasseled there or anything.
I have never played anything else but 6decks...have you?

I am spoiled to midweek play. And Double deck games. I was going every other week for two days. But since DD games deteriated I have not been as often. I only go on weekends for the tournaments.

are at Boomtown, and are invite only. They are held every two to three months. If you play there a week or so before the next tourney they will fill empty spots with active players at that time. All you need to do is to talk to a casino host. I have played in the last 12 or so. First place usualy pays $8,000.00 to $10,000.00. There are also weekly tourneys at Hollywood with a $25.00 entry fee. But I have not played it.

The Boomtown tournaments are invte only, Joe is right about that. They hold them about three months with $15,000 1st place, with a big final tournament in Dec. for $25,000 1st place. Nice tournament for free, nothing like a Las Vegas or Tunica tournament though.
Give them play a couple of weeks before hand and you should get in. Starting in Feb. Boomtown is also suppose to start a weekly tournament on Monday nights, I heard a $20 entry with prize money based on number of entries/reentries.
At this time Hollywood is the only one hosting weekly BJ tournaments in that area. Just a $20 entry with up to six reentries ($20 each), 1st place around $2,500 each week.
If you want some real tournament action try Ballys, Tunica - Feb. 6-8, or Las Vegas - Stardust Feb. 9-11, & New Frontier Feb. 12-13.
Boomtown in Bossier City, LA will start their mini weekly BJ tournaments start tonight (Monday 2/2/04) at 9:00pm, sign up at 8:00pm, first come first serve. $20 entry, they have six tables, only one advances from each table and NO REENTRIES! Sounds like a local�s tournament at best, $500 guaranteed first place, with no reentry and only one advancing it is not worth the drive from DFW area.
The Hollywood Casino across the river in Shreveport hosts their weekly BJ tournament on Tuesday nights for $20 entry, up to five reentries, and $2,500 for first prize. If you�re going to drive down for a tournament I suggest this one. It starts at 7:00pm; sign up at 4:30pm. ends around 12:00am.
