Yet more bad information in a flash
Using Red Seven means using almost no departures from Basic Strategy, so you just stick to the Basic Strategy and surrender your 16 vs 9,10,A and your 15 vs 10.
As a Card Counting technique it is meant ONLY for the most casual of players.
I suggest that you switch to a better count such as the ZEN COUNT.
The count system itself has nothing to do with how many departures from Basic Strategy you use. But basic strategy itself does not change depending on what count system you use. Using Red Seven, Hi Lo, Zen, or whatever basic strategy stays the same.
The most casual of players are not even going to learn basic strategy. Your using Red Seven is just fine. If you want to learn a more complex count after a lot of practice, your game will improve.
Basic Stategy should involve decisions such as "never listen to flash".
