Q: What are surv. rooms in Vegas like the week before Xmas?
A: Very slow. It gives them a chance to scrutinize casino employees. After all, tis the season to steal money for Christmas.
Q: Good time to be betting multiple black?
A: Yes, if you are of Asian decent. Allow me to explain. The Christmas holiday season is considered a religious family holiday by most North Americans. Our Far East Asian brothers and sisters dont share the same western religious beliefs. This is a loop hole that the casino hosts use. They combine their powers with overseas tour and travel companies and take advantage of this opportunity. Our friends from the Far East receive hefty discounts on airfare and rooms. Its not uncommon to see an entire pit filled with Asian players during this time frame. Some of them bet black but keep this in mind: the reason they came to Vegas during the Christmas period was due to the enormous amount of money they saved. The decline of the USD vs. the Yen plays a roll also.
Q: Since it's a slow week, I see where I'm going to really stick out betting this much. Are most surv. rooms short staffed during this week because it's a holiday week?
A: Quite the opposite. Most surveillance rooms are overstaffed due to the lack of play. This means that the average surveillance room staff is bored. This can be dangerous to players. A bored surveillance observer tends to be more inquisitive and thereby blows everything out of proportion. I dont blame them. Theyre expected to produce during this slow period so they latch on to anything that can make them look good.
Q: How much drinking is going on upstairs (EITS) the week before Xmas?
A: I assume youre joking since most surveillance departments are regulated by over zealous managers.
The time to play is around New Years. I wrote a detailed report called Oceans 11 a year or so ago. It laid out, in detail, how to play during this holiday period. The article was based on a question I received (BJFO days) asking How would you play and what would you do to increase your advantage and eliminate any ROR during this opportune time. It may still be posted there. It was a blueprint for both solo and team play and it considered everything right down to the smallest detail. Things most people overlook.
