Is there a perfect card counting system in blackjack? Yes, I am referring to what I read on a website:
“There is no such thing as a “best” card counting system unless you are a robot, in which case you would be keeping track of each and every card.”
This is not about playing in brick-and-mortar casinos like in “The Rain Man” movie. But if you play online, you can keep track of each and every card. Have a spreadsheet running in a second computer. I have read a few references to this type of card counting systems .
I’ve never been able to find adequate software/spreadsheets to rundown the cards. I contacted a few developers but no answer. Is anyone here willing to share a few spreadsheet macros, or at least points leading to macros?
Second, there is absolutely no literature to such “perfect” counting system. Again, I asked privately but to no avail. How do you spread the bet if you know exactly what cards are left? How do you combine the proportion of tens, and A, and smalls, and 7,8,9s?
Betting and indices could be complicated as it can be. There is no heat playing at home. You can have everything right in front of your eyes, on paper or on screen. Off the top of my head I could say that optimal betting can start at +2 TC for T+A and TC +2 for 7,8,9. I calculate the + comparing to the norm for the specific category of cards. In this case, the TC must be -4 for the 2 to 6 group. TC +2 for 2-6 and -2 for Tens would create big advantages in certain playing situations like doubling down against dealer’s 5/6.
The playing efficiency of this system must be reaching over 90%. BE should be very close to 100%. Just think that Hi-Lo reaches 97% BE. By the same token, I don’t think any traditional counting system reaches above 55% betting efficiency no matter what casino you play in. PE is also overrated for all counting systems. It is close to the advertised figures only in the last deck quarter before the cut.
Again this is for online gambling only, heads-up, the number of decks is known, the shuffle is announced, no time limits for the player.
Any thoughts?
