As a beginning BJ player, I am most interested in playing online for now for several reasons that I won't go into just yet. However, I was hoping someone would be kind enough and would be able to answer a few of my concerns/questions I have with regard to online BJ gambling.

1. Does card counting really assist you in gaining an edge against legitimate online casinos? In other words, how can I be sure that if I am playing with a single deck, that the online casino is not shuffling the deck after each individual hand? Or, even playing with mult-deck?

2. Is the only way to gain an edge in online BJ to take advantage of bonus offers?

3. Could someone just briefly describe the advantages or disadvantages of online BJ versus BJ played in person at casinos?

Not really. It can help you with some play decisions in a single deck game.

They normally shuffle after each hand. Check the rules which tell you how many decks are in play.

Yes, basically this is the only way.

No travel time or gas expenses, rooms, etc when playing online. You might miss the real feel of felt and chips, but the $$ outweighs that IMO. Your bankroll doesn't dive and and soar like it does onland. It simply climbs and climbs until you have a mountain of cash you never thought you'd see. No second hand smoke, no buffet either, but you can take the missus out for a wonderful din din in a romantic setting and get your own comps...wink.

I have read the if played correctly (which I guess is using perfect basic strategy subject to the specific BJ rules at that casino), Boss Media actually supplies the player with an ever-so-slight edge of .11%. Can anyone verify this, or is this just ridiculous?

I think there are only a hand full of BOSS casinos left that have that single deck game with great rules. Sometimes it pays NOT to upgrade to the new software they offer you!

card counting online is virtually worthless.

For the most part, yes. There are things that pop up from time to time where the game is beatable straight up. But people make the vast majority of their money from bonuses.

The advantage is that you can do it at home in your underwear. You need a smaller bankroll for the same profit.

The disadvantages are that you don't know if the game is cheating you a bit. And you don't know if the casino will just decide to not pay you because they think you are playing a winning game. That is the biggest pain in the ass.
