Newbie Questions

I actually had this happen once. I was playing coupon on a carnival game and was toking the dealer a buck on the side bet so as not to wear out my welcome. It hit for a fairly large payout and the dealer told me she felt guilty taking it all and split it with me. However I would agree that this is a VERY rare exception and not to be expected. SM

do you mean this thread? Because I read this whole thread, and was really only replying to LVBear584's comments, mostly.

Would YOU ever give back money that someone gave you for your service? Maybe they thought I deserved as much as I was given, so I don't see how it's overtipping. I have had many losing sessions where I know that the dealer made a decent amount of money, and I do not feel bad about it, nor do I blame him/her. That's the game.

I guess I don't really see what your problem is, and why you've decided to be "nice". What's your point? That a dealer doesn't dip into his toke box to give money back to the player when he's lost? Or is it that you're overly wary of getting barred and backroomed? You guys need to find new places to play. I've been dealing for a few years, and I've never seen anyone backed off a game for counting, even when (to me) it was obvious that they were.

I have told people that they tip too much. I'll have somebody overtipping and if they start losing or something, I'll say, "I appreciate the tip, but you need to make sure you get your money up again". We are NOT allowed to refuse a tip. If you're not going to tip fine, but telling someone else not to is telling someone else how to play their money.

If I told you, I'd have to kill you :)
