Don't Come....in the orgy!
You stated that tourney would be SD/DD....which?...or both?
In general, most tourney's offer +EV, and usually much greater than could ever be achieved by CC'ing, ST'ing, Ace-Sq'ing....acutally even GREATER than just OWNING THE CASINO!
Why? Because most tourney player's are "gamblers", and even if "pro's", will still not hurt their bottom line. They will play their other games, usually with the same disregard of math/stats as the regular "Ploppy". Casino's make money off of -EV Tourneys!
AND, the Ploppy, YES, Ploppy who usually seems to ALWAYS win the Tourney will go back to BumF#ck, USA, and tell all of his/her friends about their $50K+ WIN!
Next thing you know, Jim-Bob and Sally-Sue are selling/mortgaging their $5k Trailer, $30k Pickup truck, AND $50k Boat, just to play at said Casino!
Recently played a Tunica tourney wherein other players pointed to "Mr. X", and told me: "Watch out for Mr. X. He placed second last year!"
"Mr. X" was playing at a 6:5 SD game!
"MR. X" WAS PLAYING AT A 6:5 SD GAME!
Decided to "back-count" Mr. X on said 6:5 SD game...figured that I could learn something from him! Took about 5 minutes to determine that said "Mr. X" was a "Ploppy"!
Anyhow, IMHO, success at tourney's involving BJ requires:
---1. 94% LUCK!
---2. 5% SKILL!, primarily "bet-sizing/money-management".
---3. 1% ADVANCED SKILL, such as CC'ing.
Now, back to your post, if SD is dealt to the "bottom", and you KNOW that next card to you will be "8" for example, then could be VERY Valuable info., if you plan to DD 13-hard or A-2. Otherwise, not usually that helpful! AND, you are always facing the 1/5-1/8th chance that YOU will be the player "TO GET THE LAST CARD".
