I guess it is a combination of PC's getting suspicious and having the eye in the sky analyze your play/bets, but is it possible that the eye will analyze your play at random and catch you before you get any heat from the pit?

yes and its happening more and more.
I'm a red chipper and have found a honey hole that I've been playing for the last few weeks with no heat at all. I use virtually no cover plays and do my best to act like a ploppy, but am doing what I can to hide actual winnings from the PC. The only way that they would actually know how much I've won is if the EYE watches me cash out at the window. I've been getting much better at being able to talk to the dealers and ploppies next to me and still keep the count. Thanks for the responses.
SammyBoy, you might want to get into the habit of avoiding cashing out right after your play sessions.

It appears you may have become a "regular" at this store. Not good!
There's no need to cash all your chips every time. Cash just enough so as to appear to be a loser, and be consistent with what the pit thinks you left with. Save chips in a cookie jar at home, or cash them in at other nearby casinos from time to time.
Be careful not to overstay your welcome. The "no heat" will only last as long as they don't realize that you're playing a winning game, even at the red chip level, at many places.

It doesn't hurt to have your mate (any sex) dribble your winnings to the cashier. Also, dribble your winnings to the cashier on different shifts.

I have a story of a gal local here in Iowa who was doing slots with no card... she was approched and was told she had won over $10k so far for the day and they wanted her drivers lic. ( must to have wanted to issue a w2g ) of course she was winning but folowing the rule of $500 at a time out to cage......
she asked for the casino manager and talked with him and just stated it was harrasment.... they now leave her alone!!
it will not be long till we have a card we get when we enter load all cash on the card then play and what is in and out for the session is all recorded and any taxes due at cash out / leave casino......

have more than my share of boots. I think I can always trace the pre-tap to phone call from the pit. If no call from the pit, eye will not randomly eye-ball you. Just too many players for that.
I have even noticed what looks like a two Tier II evaluation (TI, NYNY, Mirage, Belagio). Pit watches and screens if the eye should do an evaluation. If there is no call from the pit, you should be OK. This is based on the moderate stakes player ($500 total max bet- and trying to keep it mostly green). If one gets to the heavy black, I can see how the eye might randomly target one.
