flat betted

I was recently "flat-betted" at one of the major LV strip casinos. There is no restiction on how much I can bet, subject to table limit of course, only it must be the same for each hand. This restriction goes for all their sister properties also.

My question is whether anyone has ever been barred from playing or "flat-betted" but somehow regained their status as a normal player and was able to play and/or spread again? If you did, how did you do it? If you don't mind sharing. Thanks.

I have always wondered why a casino will sometimes "flat-bet" a player but other times with other players they will bar or read the trespass bla bla to them. If they know a player is a counter, why do they sometimes let that player flat bet? A good AP could still seriously beat the game with a lot of wonging.

Are you allowed to sit out negative rounds? In that case the restriction would be absolutely ineffective.

The more you protest and the longer you hang out in the casino the longer it will take you to get back in under a new name later on. Stay away for three to five years and come back with a new name and a baseball hat on a different shift.

If they don't let you play with an advantage, what's the point of staying in that casino?
Anyway the legality of this flatbetting rule is up to question. In my view it's discriminatory. They have to grant everybody the same rules.

There are other forms of AP other than simple card-counting. There are other ways to make money at BJ other than simple card-counting.

Some of the most proficient BJ players I know are not at all bothered by flat-betting.

First off I have no none zip zero experience, so this is a question not a gem of wisdom... if the only reason I can think of for flat betting you instead of giving you the boot might be that they've seen you win but aren't real sure you're AP or just a lucky bastard ???

What would happen if you smiled, ordered a cocktail and flat bet away for a while? Would that move you from the badboy list to the dumbass list????

One things for certain, if they had any doubts, bitchin and moanin about flat betting would seal your fate.

Same casino, and same shift, one player is flat bet and another is bounced, why?

Player who is flat bet has history there of playing other games, such as craps and VP.
Is liked by the pit.
Is not a big bettor, borders their tolerance zone.
Attempt by casino to keep everything low key and quiet, I have had a supervisor whisper in my ear and tell me I am now flat betting.
Has brought them new customers who are big loosers.
I know of one case where the person flat bet was responsible for bringing in a convention that sold a couple hundred rooms during a slow period. (they should have let him spread, he brought them plenty, greedy SOB's)
Just the mood of the moment. I mean, how the player and pit handle the confrontation initially can make it better or worse. At a house that tends to flat bet an AP, the AP gets mouthy, and instead it turns into a tresspass.
Probably dozens of other reasons and in many cases just a coin toss.

In your post you keep repeating that there are other forms of AP than card counting but who on earth said that our anonymous AP is a counter.He could have been flat-betted for using one of the techniques you make such a secret about in spite of the fact that books have been written on the subject.
But still, any way of detecting an advantage is useless if you're not allowed to enter the game at the crucial moment. The only exception is a game where for some specific reason you have the advantage off the top (or overall)but this wasn't the topic at all.

You might have other AP opportunities that a complete barring would obliterate. Maybe the casino doesn't flyer or Griffin flat bettors, but does flyer undesirables who get themselves 86'd by being assholes.

My thoughts on why they might choose to flat bet me below...

- I play with a lot of cover; betting and playing cover, particularly for insurance.

- I do give them some limited action in other casino games with minimal house edge like craps, baccara, video poker, pai gow poker
-I tip generously to dealers and waitresses.
-I am friendly with many of the bosses and know them by name.
-I don't beg for comps. If you bet black chips you will get comped anyway.
- I never play to get even. Sometimes I book huge losses at 21.

Discriminatory? Please. They do *not* have to grant the same betting rules for everyone, and gaming will back them on that. How else do you think they get away with letting the high roller bet 150k a hand and Joe Schmo has to be satisfied with 10k a hand?
