Is there a place to find the exact index numbers for the Hi-Lo count?
I'm using appendix A of PB, and I'm realizing that due to the fact the rounding process uses the absolute value of the true count, zero has twice as big of a range as any other number (-.99 to .99).
For example if you go to table A2 (multi deck, H17) it lists 0 as the number to stand on. However, if I go to the wizard of odds hand calculator (6 decks, H17, no surrender),it list hit as a barely preferable option for 10-6 V10 or 9-7 v 10. But if you get to a running count of 1 (TC of about .17) by making it 844 v 10 it flips to stand being the slightly better option. Therefore, slightly more of the range of -.99 to .99 is actually hit than the recommended stand.
I'm thinking of compensating by just changing it to any positive running count is a stand at 16 v 10, and zero or negative is a hit.
Not sure if that makes sense but I'm hoping I can refine it if I could run down the exact numbers used, especially for the zero values which will naturally be in play much more (albeit at hopefully lower bets).
