Okay, so this question gets raked over the coals every few weeks, but I wanted to revisit it so I could be sure the stats I read were correct.
Yes, I know that from a pure statistical point of view, taking even money is not the best bet, but how much do you stand to lose? I heard (and of course 'heard' is as reliable as 'assume'), that it's 80 cents for every 12 dollars (I'm also going by memory). If this is true, that naturally begs whether the psychological benefits of getting SOME money on the hand makes it worth it in the long run (to borrow thinking from the much-villified Patrick). Now, I'm sincerely not trying to be confrontational, I'm just thinking out loud, and wondering what's best for the average player (i.e. me).
