Whew!
I hope you do not find it disrespectful if I tell you your post made me laugh... 'cause you passionately believe every word you write. And somehow your passion allowed you more than a couple of F-words and at least one b******t. But I was trying to be humorous when I suggested you used our esteemed members as 'muscle' to back your opinions.
and I do respect your opinions. I read all your posts and our e-mails about the trash that once was overfilling the free boards should remind you that I do not disagree in principle. I do not read all oddball's posts so I am no authority about his intent. However, my reference to "jokey and inclusive in all previous posts" was made to illustrate my sense of oddball's 'style'....not yours. I take you seriously.....and do not wish to create any acrimony with you personally. Oddball's deviant behavior is not worth the collateral damage of our estrangement. And if he doesn't step up to the plate again soon, we can all write him off as the troll most people believe he is.
I also have the utmost respect for Mr. Schlesinger and have told him that many times. Even so I look for any opportunity to tweak him on his idiosyntricities when I can get away with it. But he always has the last word....
There is a fine line between child-like and childish. I used to be able to recognize the difference between the two, but now that I am so old that I get monthly mailings from AARP I wonder..... My tolerance for crap is I guess higher than most...as long as it doesn't involve progressions and is not mean-spirited..
In summary, I guess I should re-iterate that I hold the human condition and striving for excellence as the defining characteristics of our life on earth.... This requires all people be given respect and dignity as the basic components of social interc**rse. People should not have to earn my respect...it is enough that they exist and suffer and have faith and conviction to garner my respect. Those who desire "Truth, Beauty, Freedom, and above all things..Love" are aces in my book. This may be the most poorly chosen battle I have ever engaged in, but at the time it seemed that the oddball was harmless enough to live and let live......refreshing and not repugnant.
so that is my last word on this campaign.
On to bigger and better things....
Regards,
scobee
