Doubling on 6

The other day I was with a friend playing blackjack. He doubled down on a 4&2 aganist a dealer 6 up. He won and I told him in the long run he would get murdered doing that. So could you give the that exact amount of times a player will win and lose doubling down on a 4&2 against a dealer 6 up. Dealer must hold on soft 17.
What I would like to know is if I took 4&2 and doubled against every combination a dealer could have with a 6 showing playing head on head many times could I expect to win and lose. Thank you

the dealer busts a 6 about 44% of the time, so that's how many you will win. one time in 13 you will draw an ace for 17, but so what, you can't win any hands with that that you won't win with a 16. Bonne chance; PV
