Actually all these points are good for playing poker online which i do as the games as there is no point in rigging games.(I suppose!)
No point for the house, but considerable incentive for the players, and there are many ways of cheating. Actually some of the less professional poker rooms do hang onto your cash for an obscene length of time, I think to maximize the interest they get on what must be a large absolute amount of money.
A buddy who is more knowledgable about these things told me that 3 or 4 years ago the bonuses were much better and you only had to wager a small amount, well maybe then it was profitable but how can it be now?
The bonuses were indeed much better, usually 1x or 2x deposit initially. If you knew about it, and few did, you might have cleared a million dollars in the first few months, if you were really organized. Not interesting obviously because its too late: but then you have to consider that all this might happen all over again. I've been watching developments in digital network gambling and 3G phones keenly.
One place i saw VIP casino says you have to wager the bonus 70 times, crazy!
It doesn't actually make that much difference in terms of edge, just volatility. Cryptologics like VIP are theoretically countable, so you could just wait for a monster running count in the multi-player game and wash most of the money at zero vig.
It would be just to east to increase the casino edge,a good programmer can just insert methods to cause the player to bust more, cause dealer to bust less, have player receive less BJs and opposite for dealer.I am sure any high school kid who is adept at computers could do this!
Yes, and it is painfully eat to cheat at real-world casino blackjack also. I could deal to you, tell you I'm cheating, even tell you the method, and you still wouldn't be able to spot what I was doing.
The real reason cheating is not more widespread in the real world and online is simply economics. Winning players come back and become the casino cash cow that is the compulsive gambler, losers quit.
A handful of operations have been proven to cheat, but there is very little in the wary of verifiable proof on the rest. If you stick to cryptos and the like you should be safe.
I have also seen the terms and conditions of some of them and they are laughable?! some you can only play slots and have to wager 40 times your deposit and then they want all sorts of forms to send in!
The slots thing is tricky, sure. There might be a way round it. The online casinos have a big thing about progressive slots. Any uncapped progressive slot theoretically becomes positive expectation at some level. I just discovered a way to clock the payback % of slots (see bonus account discussion on the IG page). We can get a rough estimate of the frequency of jackpots from the excellent slotcharts.com. So you might be able to get an edge from an abnormally high jackpot by "wonging-in" at the right point, in addition to all the bonus money. I'm still working on this though, and it might be the case the fluctuations are just too high (perhaps a team could do it?).
About the forms, I agree, its a f*&^ing nuisance. I have another guy to do all that for me.
I am probably to late on the scene and will be steering clear in future.
There is still a lot of money to be made, but to most gamblers it would be far from obvious how to get at it. Those of us who have been involved for years have discovered a lot of "backdoors".
It certainly isn't the case that you could make a fortune from just signing up at a bunch of joints with decent bonuses and playing blackjack. So, you are probably making the right decision.
