First, gambling is not legal in Texas; this is what I heard from a Texan. Second, there are no casinos in Ft. Worth.

Rick diluged this site with his tacky advertising a couple of years ago until the link to his site was disabled by the administration. That site with all those gross pictures is now gone.

His fees make it impossible to make this a winning game.

He had a testimonial by Nelson Rose, co-author of Blackjack and the Law on his site until I contacted Mr. Rose about it. Mr. Rose wrote me back thanking me for letting him know about it, and said that he would demand that Rick take the "testimonial" down. The "testimonial" quickly disappeared.

Watch out folks. Rick will quickly become a serious pest if allowed to do so.

Yea, I called Ft Worth. There is something going on during that time, it involves tournamnet play, it involves cards, and it's called Black Jack. I asked the people there if gambling in TX was legal now [ ouside of betting on the UT Longhorns in which case you should immediately call GA :) ]

I was told .. are you ready for this .. "he knows a couple of judges and is able to put on this tournamnet." Really! Sounds like the old West is alive and well. Better buy a six-shooter before saddling up for cattle town.

I'd like to know the skinny on this deal and why I should stay away. There are entry fees, re-entry fees, annual memberships to some club, .. the overall fees and rake may be so high the EV goes out the window. I don't know but would like to without opening a can of worms.

The hotel will put a brochure in the mail if you ask them nicely.

I have promised to myself that I only participate in BJ tournaments with NO entry fees.

Ideally, real money is played, so that the result makes more sense.

Though I haven't played any tournaments yet. :-)

We have been playing tournaments since June 2002. The tournaments in January are our first major tournaments. As far as Mr. Rose, I never said he represented me, I only said I talked to him and he like my idea and wished me well. And last we are not gambling, we are playing a tournament format with no cash value chips. What we are doing is nothing differant then golf, pool, bowling, & fishing tournaments, that pay out cash prizes - which are legal in the state of Texas. If what I am doing was illegal I don't beleive the Las Vegas Hilton would have me running satellite monthly qualiying tournaments for their Million dollar tournaments, but then again your the expert (in your own mind).
Response has been good from players from around the country, they (unlike you) understand how by hosting all these tournaments within four days they can save time and money, opposed to going out for a week or longer for the same number of tournaments.
I personally invited by (e-mail) Stanford Wong to come to our tournaments in January. I meet him, Antoney Curtis, & Henry Tambruin at last Aprils finals at the LV Hilton.
