Blackjack in Europe

Having learned to play Blackjack out in America, I'm now heading back to England and hoping to carry the game on. Does anyone know where the best casinos for playing conditions tend to be in Europe? And also how different the European version of Blackjack is from the American one? Any info/advice would be much appreciated.

Because by sharing the information, the playable casinos will prosper and the unplayable ones will suffer. Unplayable casinos will then be forced to improve their playing conditions - hence a benefit for everyone (including yourself).

All good games are crowded with smart players... morons know what is good too... casinos accumulate experience dealing with good players... the less the better for the known few...
My response to your mail was not showing off of my knowledge, only telling the reality of the world of good games: Most good European casinos are small with limit tables, may tolerate limit loss to advantageplayers in certain period. The more good players, the less profit for the existing ones or shorter life for good games. Your best shot is doing your own leg works, if you find good games and you can't play for some reasons later, exchange them with others.

Thanks for the advice goodcards and for aligning my youthful exuberance/naiveity with reality. To follow on from your last message then, whats the best way to do 'leg work'? Is it simply visiting as many casinos as possible or are there simpler, more time efficient methods of doing it? Telephoning them or buying a blackjack magazine for instance?

Ask them what their penetration is, what the SCORE of their games is, and what their policy is on card counters. But don't call from your phone so they can't trace the call.

for international games. You can search through various bj sites on European games... can't find many good games but can screen out most bad ones such as Austria, Nederland, Greece, Germany, Luxemburg, Norway, Denmark, Swedish, Finland.... Trackjack has some bj games information especially exhaustic on Russia but not updated. Games, especially good ones, change fast. A Prgaus casino chain offered full ES for one year, another expeimented DD and SD for several months. At least 2 full ES games are offered at West Europe, one CSM, one shoe. A CC drove around France for 2 months visiting most casinos finding some playable games. East Europe is obviously better than West but more dangerous... more thieves at West Europe, watch for Gypses, more fake polices at East Europe, watch for crooked taxi meters... Leg walks is not as boring as it sounds...

What, however, is a casino's SCORE? And what are you looking out for when you ask them about their policy towards card counters?

Just a bit confused about what you mean by 'international games'? Are there are any fundamental/consistent differences between European blackjack and USA blackjack? Have tried looking through books but not getting very far...

European games no hole card. When surrendering is offered, it is early surrender. Most no hole card casinos take double and splits when dealer has BJ, one should change strategies playing against dealer A/10 with 11, 88, and AA.

"Blackjack Attack" by Don Schlesinger... score is a method evaluating how good the game is.
When calling casinos, ask for a pit boss then ask their poilcies when spot a counter. If the pit boss says "I don't understand what you are saying."
Forget that casino as it must be using CSMs!

How big are the casinos in Europe? Are they ever big enough to accommodate team play?

Is card counting legal throughout Europe? Will they ever do anything other than ban the suspected player from the casino?
