Total number of messages posted or responded to on BJ21 in the last seven days was 1182 on the free pages, and 954 on the green-chip pages. Deleted posts are not counted in these totals.

Most ten active free pages for the last seven days were BJ Misc with 371 posts, Outside USA 147, progressions 140, Vegas BJ 107, Vegas Life 76, USA Midwest 70, Beginner BJ 66, Net Casinos 58, USA South 45, and Games Not BJ 30.

Most ten active green-chip pages for the last seven days were Misc BJ Green with 302 posts, Non-Gambling 172, Vegas Green 126, Sports 49, Card Counting 47, Law & Taxes 43, Cover & Comps 37, West Green 32, Admin 26, and Theory 23.

In January BJ21 had 2,474,093 hits from 39,966 visitors in 131,748 sessions.

Is this correct? It is of particular interest to me since I am a regular poster on the outside USA free page, and used to be a member of Black Chip, and I was considering joining Green Chip again.

Non-USA has been the lowest-volume green-chip page for some time. We discussed eliminating it, but the users of it voted to keep it because they like the quality of its posts.

If the only reason you are thinking of joining green chip is so to read the Non-USA page, my advice is do not join green chip.

Andrew, you may not be aware that Don Schlesinger has decided to no longer contribute to BJ21 due to the responses of some of the contributors on the free pages. His venom is reserved particularly for Clarke Cant, who he considers to offer only rubbish. The situation got out of hand as Don wants the site moderated, but that is not Stanfords policy. The reference to the posts is that this is a sad week in the BJ21 community, having lost possibly its greatest mind, and it seems a bit raw to go talking up the popularity of the site. (Which of course Stanford is perfectly entitled to do.)

Anyway, good to see you on misc, I think you should get a green chip membership. The knowledge you will personally gain will be invaluable in continuing upgrade of your school curiculum

...but I would be wary of calling anyone "its greatest mind", that smacks a little of hero-worship.

Again, I emphasise that I am ill-informed on the subject (and don't particular care either), but I seem to remember hearing "Don S. refuses to post on bj21..." several times over years gone by.

I also vaguely remember reading a post that said something like Don has a habit of doing this, but then seems to wander back after a year or so...

Please note this is no slight against Don, I do not know him and therefore can not speak with authority on the subject.
