One of the minimum-bet player's tasks is determining which player the big-bet player should play behind. When the big-bet player wongs-in, the minimum-bet player has already identified the player to play behind, including herself/himself, if no other appropriate player is playing at the table. Remember, a wong-in should only take place with a great AP count, so the playing decisions should be relatively cut-and-dried even when playing behind a simple BS player.
BJ action in the Club Newport front room -
During normal week-days, the $100+/minimum BJ action starts picking-up between 10AM and 11AM (new decks have usually been played and most players have eaten) with 4-6 tables available until 3PM, when 6-9 tables are available, until 1AM to 2AM, when they start trimming tables as required. Tables drop from 2AM until 10AM with 3-4 tables usually available. Since the shift change occurs at 4AM, they use the dealers 'early-out' list to close the tables.
During normal week-days, they do not like to open the $25/minimum and $50/minimum tables until late afternoon and they trim them as soon as they can since the same game is offered right outside Club Newport in the Pequot Casino.
On week-ends (starting Friday night), all of the $100+/minimum tables are available by 6PM on Friday night and the crowd action dictates the number of tables remaining open, until 9PM Sunday night, when they slip into the regular week-day schedule.
On week-ends (starting Friday night), they open all $25/minimum and $50/minimum tables and try to start cutting them back starting at 1 AM (again, the same game is offered right outside Club Newport in the Pequot Casino). On Saturday and Sunday, they start opening these tables at the noon-time shift change and play it by the size of the playing crowd.
BJ action in the Club Newport back room -
During normal week-days, these 6 tables ($100+/minimum) open at 6PM. If the front room has only 8-9 $100+/minimum tables in action, they may not even open the room or may close it quickly. They would then funnel those players to the Stargazer Casino. On Friday night, the room is open as long as there is action - they reduce the number of tables available, based on the room's action and try to be closed before 4AM. On Saturday and Sunday, some tables may open as early as 10AM, based on their anticipated play and closing follows the Friday pattern.
The Stargazer casino -
Here you should wear dress-casual at a minimum to effect entry. The casino trys to automatically funnel the highest rollers, government officials, pro athletes, and entertainment figures here for pampering amd privacy. Crowds following and watching multiple public figures or distracting a high roller can hurt the casino's bottom-line. So, these customers are offered the privacy, if they want it. Some like to circulate in the other casinos for the crowd/fan adulation and the casino has no problem with that. The Stargazer Casino is intimate and sometimes does not receive, Monday-Thursday, enough play to randomise the cards on all tables, unless you like playing when new decks are first put in play. Friday and Saturday nights are usually busy and Sunday nights are busy on weeks with a Monday holiday. I have played there and enjoyed the experience. Tables start at $200/minimums, although you can ask for a reduction to a $100/minimum, which may be granted, based on the current player pool. The Paragon restaurant below the Stargazer Casino offers a superb dining experience (check-out the menu on the foxwoods.com web-site). With the exception of lobster (tourists pay a heavy premium), the menu is very fairly priced for the quality and presentation of the food and the ambiance of the restaurant. Dining here provides a in to ascend the stairway (elevator also available) to the Stargazer Casino, even if you are not planning to play it is worth a look.
