Is a $1000 enough of a bankroll starting out at $10 min tables?

For an hour session yes.  For high SCORE game under Optimal conditions a 5% Ruin would require around 7,000.

I started blackjack with $300 without knowing the existence of basic strategy, but I won six sessions in a row for a total of more than $3000. Bankroll is a theoretically defined term. 

Again, nonsense. Sounds like he relies more on luck than proper  preparation!

It's not the minimum bet that matters. It's the maximum one. What is that?

The max bet is 300. The book I’m reading states your max bet X 100 is your bankroll. I don’t have that. Unfortunately all the games in the state are that way. I’ve got at least a year or two before I’m ready. Hopefully I can save some in that time.

Sorry, I didn't mean what the table max was; I meant what was your maximum bet. In other words, you're spreading from $10 to what?

I think a 1:6 spread would make my max bet $60. After a split and double it would be $240 which is pushing it for me. That’s as high as I can go at this stage.

So, you must realize that $1,000 BR simply isn't sufficient to bet like this. Suppose you did have a hand like the one you described, and you lost it all. And, suppose, five minutes later, it happens again! You can't afford to lose half your BR on two hands. You'll eventually lose it all, for sure.

Wait to play more seriously until you can increase your BR to at least, say, $5,000.

Thank you for the advice Don! I will save and practice. By the time I’m saved up I should be ready to play. I did discover a casino on the e OK/TX border that has $2 min and $100 max bet. I think a trip there couldn’t hurt to get some time in without a big BR. Granted it isn’t a variation of blackjack like BJ +3

Before travelling to OK make sure they are not charging an ante on every hand.

Unfortunately they all charge an ante. A few wave the ante a couple days out of the week. But that’s only a handful that do that.

The lower your stakes, the more costly that ante is on a percentage basis. So, just understand what it's costing you. You may be playing a negative-EV game.

You need software to run simulations. There is no "formula." Got to qfit.com and look around.
