about the Appendix B tables in "Professional Blackjack"

I have a few questions regarding the Appendix B tables in "Professional Blackjack". I see that the tables B2 and B4 have no strategy numbers for splitting 3-3 against an 8 when one can double after a split. The comparable tables for the high-low count in Appendix A do have such strategy numbers. As the tables for the two systems are very similar and the strategy numbers for the high-low count (+4 on both tables A2 and A4) are well within the table range of -20 to +20, it seems odd that the tables for the halves count do not contain comparable numbers. Is it correct that the halves count doesn't identify a splitting opportunity in this situation or are the tables in error? If this is an error, what are the correct strategy numbers and are there other corrections to any of the Appendix B tables I should be aware of? Thanks

It is odd that a more advanced count would lack an index number, while the simpler count would include one. The fact is that neither Halves nor Hi-Lo can provide any meaningful index for splitting 3-3 vs. 8. For this to be a good play, you'd need an excess of 7s or 8s, an excess which neither count can indicate. Though the appendix HAPPENS to provide a Hi-Lo index for this decision, little, if any gain would be enjoyed by using it.

It is still odd that there's a Hi-Lo, but not a Halves, index. I would guess that there was a barely perceptible gain at the Hi-Lo index number, but no such blip for the Halves count. In any event, however, using an index for this decision is not meaningful with either count.
