I was wondering if anyone could recommend any resources for very specific strategy on two person team play.

Nathaniel Tilton's The Blackjack Life is your answer. Tilton While studying the literature Tilton found out that they all described tactics for either solo play or big team approach. to fill the void his book deals with adjustments so the techniques would work while playing with a single partner.I highly recommend the book.
Great resource, exactly what I'm looking for! I'm actually a third way through the book already. A question though, to you or anyone else that may have done this, can you really back count two tables at the same time? They talk about that as a main strategy in the book. I mean if it becomes second nature, i'm sure you could get to the point where are you could handle the math of two at a time. But logistically I don't see how you could get away with that. When I back count, I have to get pretty close to the table. if I was doing two tables at once, I would constantly have to be sidestepping, turning my head, sidestepping back to the other table turning my head. And it takes a good 15 minutes to count down a shoe sometimes, I just think you'd stand out doing that. Anyone really do that?
Yes, you can do it. You don't have to be perfect, and you certainly don't stay with both shoes for very long.
Just position yourself between the tables and with clear lines of sight. Eventually, one table will start to "pull away" from the other (or both will be no good), and you can abandon one to concentrate on the other.

Two cohorts of mine were in a casino when one, a seasoned player with a solid reputation for excellent vision (and exceptional luck) went up to the balcony to rest. He was looking down at the tables and whenever a new shoe started he counted it. If nothing was happening count-wise when a another new shoe started he would start counting the new shoe. A monster count developed and he eventually caught his friends attention, signalling him to the table. The friend went to the wrong table and piled the chips on without ever looking back up. He had gone to the wrong table. He crushed the shoe but that's beside the point.

When backcountung any shoe, what count is typically a point of no return? I assume it depends some on other available options, but what is a general guideline?

Hey Don, if you're sitting and playing (by yourself or if you're waiting to call in a BP), would you also say when the TC goes below -1 you abandon the shoe? And does this also apply to an 8 deck shoe?

Count multiple tables using ace-5 or other ultra-simple count if you struggle with hi-lo. 3 tables with a-5 is superior to one with hi-lo.
