1 deck or 2 decks

I will be going on a blackjack trip in a few weeks. I will be playing one-deck game. I am not sure if it is better to play one hand or two:

1. With one hand, I would be playing initially $20 and then go up or down depending on the count. It would range from $10 to $50. I would play this at table alone or with maximum one other person. Rule of 7 at this location. OR
2. With two hands, I would be playing initially $10 on each hand and then go up on each hand depending on the positive count. I would not be able to go down on negative counts(There would be $5 tables, and with two hands you have to double the bet). Range would be $10 to $50. There would not be any other players at table. If someone does arrive, then I would drop to one hand. Rule of 7.

Which do you suggest that I play- one hand or two? Thanks a lot.

Interesting you think starting off the top with a 2 unit or $20 bet is necessary camouflage when playing 1 hand but not 2. I think it would be the other way around and you would want more camo playing 2 hands. All else being equal playing 2 hands is better. However, it's not better if it draws more attention to you and you're asked to leave. With single deck RO7 you really only need 1 hand to get a decent game. Be careful with a 1-5 spread in single deck, don't jump the bet too much. Also you might not want to start with $20 every single time, you don't want to be predictable or look like you're using a pattern. Hope this helps and good luck!
