Why do people join green chip?

I'm perplexed why people began joining green chip. The last I heard tehre were over a thousand members. Certainly the reason can't be security given this large number of people with it inevitable that numerous casino personall would have access. I mean, why don't people just post on the free pages or other blackjack sites? It would save $50,000 a year. The same information could be shared on other sites. Can someone clarify?
