Why Did Revere Say."......"?

Lawrence Revere said he 'liked to play with only or at the most two other players on a single deck, and they must be good players' in PLAYING BLACKJACK AS A BUSINESS.

He also said 'three others for double deck.'

Was it because of more rounds and less shuffling?

Was it because of the visual effect of seeing others cards?

Or, some other varible?

Maybe other BJ authors have mentioned this but he's the only one thatI know of that has.
