I watched "Rounders" the other day.
Bochi-bochi.
("So-so", slangish Japanese)
Anyway, it inspired me to play around with the shuffle, and I daresay, the stuff is pretty easy.
Simply by selectively riffling and stripping, you can easily manipulate a card from the top to the bottom of the deck. Try it at home and I think you`ll find it a fairly simple task.
Which all begs the question:
If your beloved Syph can rig the deck with no training (and competently pull it off against his unsuspecting students :) what could a real Mechanic do?
Snyder, and others, have mentioned that cheating is relatively rare in casinos, but...
As I understand, it only takes a few high cards to be placed out of play to destroy your long-term advantage. If I can do that, with no training, why wouldn`t others?
I would make it a policy in my casino to have a...competent dealer.
Just curious about your thoughts on this.
Cheers!
Syph
