for the comped copy of your "Card Counter's Guide to Casino Surveillance". It is a very well written, interesting, and informative read. It even caused me to empathize with casino employees. One question - for now. I've played over 3,000 hours, mostly in the town where I reside. I've been backed off maybe 60 times. The back-offs seem to be random, no consistent reason. I've been backed off winning and losing, betting green/black and betting silver, playing sober and not so sober, using a huge spread and using a conservative spread, being gregarious and being reticent, playing long sessions and during the buy-in, using cover/camo and not using cover/camo. I suspect it is due to familiarity more than anything. Who is this guy playing every other day with a seemingly unlimited roll of bennies in his pocket? How long, on average, do you think someone could play at any given joint, using all the best techniques covered in your, and other, books, before getting the polite tap? After all, you still have to bet more when the count is high, less when it is not.
