No discard tray advice sought

I currently use high low, but wish to play a four deck game with no discard tray. (not auto shuffler, simply put out of view)
Should I
a) continue to use high low, & use approx. method for determining no. of half decks remaining thru means such as looking at my watch. I really don't feel happy with trying to count rounds, but am open to persuasion.
or
b) Convert to a running count only system, of which I believe KO is popular
or c) Some other response.
Also how much will I lose converting to such a system, ie will it be less than applying Wong Hi lo with sufficient true count conversion.
Heat is not really an issue.

Any advice appreciated.
