LV ?: I've got a car. Where should I go?

I'll be in Las Vegas in several weeks. I will be staying at a mid-strip casino, but I would like to get away from the strip some.

Other than downtown for some single deck play, any recommendations about off-Strip casinos? Hoover Dam? Red Rock Canyon?

Also, are any of the coupon groups (American Casino Guide, Pocketbook of Values, etc) worth the money and hassle?
