A question for any KO experts out there. I have been learning the KO system and was not quite sure how to handle the situation of 4,4 vs dealer 5 or 6. The KO system, as you know, uses the noDAS basic strategy table as its single BS table and adds all of the KO indices to this one BS table. What that means is one never splits 4,4 (at least in the KO preferred strategy). However, the KO index for hard 8 vs dealer 5 or 6 is dbl if count >= 4. The book, as far as I can tell, does not deal specifically with 4,4 as a hard 8 but I assumed that for the purposes of whether to double or not, 4,4 should be treated as hard 8 since it is not split (just like 8,8 is treated essentially as hard 16 for surrender).
Is that correct?
