I have been researching card counting and came across this site and have found it to be very informative and also amusing. From reading the things that you folks have to say I get the impression that most of you don't respect casino personell (i.e. dealers and pit bosses) and in fact feel that they are not much brighter than the village idiot (correct me if I'm wrong). I wonder that those who seem to spend so much time in a casino can maintain such an opinion. I personally love what I do for a living and in fact spend a majority of my time off the clock researching blackjack;playing styles, history, tecniques, player profiling, and also playing the game. I spend 8 hours a day being called names that most people wouln't even call their dog, dealing with people that are so drunk they can't remember their own name, giving away thousands of dollars to people who seem to have forgotten such simple phrases as "please" and "thank you", all the time keeping a smile on my face and treating them just as nicely as though they were my own family. And for those of you who think that I come to the table and shuffle my cards thinking only of how much I want the chips in front of you and the money in your wallet to become the casinos money, think again. Most of the time I am rooting for the player hoping that you can walk away ahead and with a smile on your face because that is why I love my job. I have alot more I would like to say but I dont want you to feel I am flaming your boards, I just wanted to let you know the next time you walk into a casino and sit at the table remember that your dealer is a person too and our job deserves just a little more respect than it seems most of you give us.
