This is something for all the pro players. Since I am quite new here, I only know of two: Stanford and Don but I invite all those who make their living at the game to respond. One of my reasons for coming to this site is that I am sick of handing over my money to the casinos. The other reason, is that I am writing a novel about a professional card counter. I realised that I know nothing about what that is like, and I would like you to answer a few questions at your convenience. Your names will be listed, and thanked again, in the acknowledgements, along with any books you may have published. If you would like, I may also work any books of yours into the story. Although I will be taking many dramatic liberties, I would like it to be as realistic as possible. If you would like to remain anonymous, please state that in your response, and send everything to my e-mail address, or do so even if you dont want to be anonymous, but just dont want your life story posted on the internet:
The questions are below.
1. Please give a brief description of yourself.
2. Please describe how you got started in professional blackjack, and why you decided to earn your living that way.
3. Please describe the difficulties you had in starting.
4. Please give a description of your everyday life, focussing on the work at the casino, as that is what my characters life will be revolving around.
5. Did anything particularly of interest happen? For example, getting roughed up in ally ways etc
6. What sort of countermeasures have been taken against you?
7. What stakes do you usually play?
8. What is your average income from playing?
9. What makes a good dealer?
10. Who were your influences?
11. What sort of cover do you use?
12. What do you look for in choosing a game?
13. Anything else you wish to add, or that may be of interest?
Please note, that I will not be selling any of the information that I receive. If you would not like to be mentioned, please state so in your response. As well, you are not obligated to answer all the questions if you feel that the information in some of the questions is too private. I thank you very much, and look forward to hearing from you. If the book is accepted and published, all contributors will be notified by e-mail, and I will be posting on this message board. Thank you for your support.
Charlie Mac.
