Some of you know me from my other blackjack software work I have posted here. I built a separate app for a much less glamorous problem: keeping honest records of actual play.
BlackjackTrack is a post-session logbook for iPhone and iPad. It records buy-in, cash-out, time, tips, comps, expenses, rules, penetration, shuffle, number of players, counting method, spread, and heat. It reports actual P/L, drawdown, trip net, and results by casino and rule set.
It also provides a deliberately rough comparative EV and variance estimate. Counting EV is explicitly described as approximately ±30%; it is not a replacement for full simulation software.
Everything remains on the device. There is no account, cloud service, advertising, subscription, or analytics. CSV export is included. It costs $7.99 once.
I’m the developer, so this is self-promotion, posted with the provisional permission of Al Rogers.
The criticism I’m most interested in is whether these are the right fields for real post-session logging and whether the EV presentation is useful without suggesting more precision than it has.
The website for the app is here, and I want to thank you in advance for your feedback.
