Just returned from another few days of play in Las Vegas. As usual I noticed how the change in the number of players (hands) at a table often changes, sometimes dramatically, whether you win or lose for a short period of time. Never thought too much about it before as I normally just accept it and go on. I am pretty much a "camper" at a table and most times when a dealer is beating up on a table the other players leave and then I make my comeback.
For some reason to-night I got to wondering if any of you have any thoughts on the subject. Many players will switch to two or more hands in an attempt to break a cold spell and obviously sometimes it does and sometimes it don't. I can't think of any rational explanation as to how changing the number of players makes the hands better or worse, just know that sometimes it does. The cards are most times crazy so maybe I am simply attempting to gain some insight into "crazy", always a exercise in futility.
